Brand New's Next Album Confirmed for 2016: Report
Brand New's fifth studio album has become the Detox or Chinese Democracy of alternative/emo rock. OK, not exactly: The band's last LP, Daisy, came out in 2009. But the rabid devotion of their fan base coupled with the general lack of information about new material has led to a breaking point: WE CAN'T WAIT MUCH LONGER. Good news: The quartet's record label, Procrastinate! Music Traitors, included a Brand New release on their cryptic 2016 rundown, Alternative Press reports.
The list, available here, includes a listing for "Procrastinate! confirmed record releases for year 2016," with an entry that reads "Brand New (band/unconfirmed format)." This, coupled with recent comments from singer-guitarist Jesse Lacey, suggests the band is still mulling whether to release an full LP or shorter EP. (Come on, dudes. It's been seven years. We'll take the full album.)
