Kendrick Lamar & President Obama's Meeting Forms Mentorship Video

Kendrick Lamar got to meet a big fan by the name of Barack Obama recently. Not long after the world learned K.Dot's To Pimp a Butterfly cut "How Much a Dollar Cost" was one of the President's favorite songs of 2016, the guys convened at the White House to talk.

A new video shows snapshots of the meeting while promoting a message of mentorship, ending with a link Mentoring.org. Kendrick's voiceover details sitting down with Obama to discuss "topics concerning the inner cities, the problem, the solutions and further more embracing the youth, both being aware that mentoring saves lives."

Senior Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett recently guested on BuzzFeed's indispensable Another Round podcast, where the Kendrick/Mr. President summit came up. Jarrett said Kendrick "was a little nervous—bless his heart, he's really a very nice young man, and the president said, 'Can you believe that we're both sitting in this Oval Office?'"
