A bubbling-up Star Wars rumor has been killed: Young Han Solo will not appear in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Following the casting of Alden Ehrenreich as the iconic character in the upcoming Solo solo film, some believed that we’d catch a glimpse of the character in Rogue One, which takes place before Episode IV: A New Hope and could conceivably include the appearance of Han. Director Gareth Edwards made it clear that that wasn’t happening, during an interview with Extra at Star Wars Celebration Europe.
“I’m not sure if I’m allowed to do this, but I think I should… I can put to bed, Han Solo is not in the movie,” Edwards declared.
Hey, at least we definitely get Darth Vader in Rogue One! The spinoff is set to hit theaters on Dec. 16.
