Miley Cyrus used her celebrity status for good over the weekend, when she hit up Virginia to spread the importance of voting to George Mason University. The pop star, who is a Hillary Clinton supporter, went door to door in dorms to campaign for the democratic presidential candidate.
Miley looked ever so patriotic in her kooky version of a red, white and blue outfit (topped with a pastel blue fuzzy coat), and was swarmed by students as she walked around their campus. During that same weekend, Katy Perry also went to University of Nevada, Las Vegas to urge students to vote for Clinton on Nov. 8. This followed the star's Funny or Die skit in support of the Democrat.
"I saw one Hillary poster in a sea of terrifying Trump supporters and posters. This election has been super hateful, not only for the nominees themselves, but within our own community, Cyrus told Washington station NBC4. "When I post support for Hillary on Instagram, I can’t believe the hate that I get. It seems like you’re just talking to different people that live on different planets.”
