The wait is finally over, Nintendo lovers! The gaming company officially released the details of the Nintendo Switch, their Wii U follow-up, which was previously given the secret codename NX. The three-minute trailer above reveals what fans can expect from the hybrid mobile/home console.
“Today’s video incorporated short glimpses of representative gameplay to demonstrate the liberating nature of the Nintendo Switch home gaming system. Full game demonstrations, the list of launch window titles, as well as launch date, price, product configuration and related specifics, will be shown and announced prior to the March launch.”
And of course, fans had mixed reactions:
The rumors surrounding the Switch were all proven to be true, as it will use discs instead of cartridges and has two removable controllers on either side of the tablet called Joy-Cons. They can be used alone, on the Switch for an experience similar to the Wii U or be attached to the Joy-Con grip. Gamers can also connect multiplayers via Bluetooth and plug it into a dock station to play the games on a big-screen TV.
"One player can use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each take one; or multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options," Nintendo explains. The Switch launches worldwide in March 2017.
